The best light, clipped shoe on
the market. The front pattern is quarter clipped and the hinds
come with side clips. Because light shoes are often the most
difficult to clip, you’ll find these are an excellent option.
Strong clips on well made shoes. Toe area is slightly wider to
provide strength and wear.

A light traction shoe ideal for
the horse that needs that extra bit of grip to reach maxi- mum
performance levels. This new shoe has the same front and hind
pattern and punching that has made the SX-7 one of the most
popular Kerckhaert shoes. You’ll find this to be an excellent
choice for your barrel and roping horses, light hunters and trail
horses where terrain allows for a lighter shoe.

Demand for shoes punched for
city head nails brought forth the SX Series. The SX-8 is a 5/16"
thick shoe with graduated widths. These shoes are used for trail,
jumping, dressage and ranch work. 5 City or 5 Slim are the nails
most commonly used.

Efficiency is the name of the
game. These shoes have a strong clip from top to bottom, quarter
clip fronts, side clips behind. Because the clip is not drawn from
the web of the shoe, the integrity of the nail holes and shoe
strength is protected. Toe area is slightly wider to provide
strength and wear.

The unique design of the Fast
Break shoe is the answer for the horse that needs some help in
breaking over. This enhanced break over can relieve the stress on
tendons caused by a long toe situation. The XT version provides a
3/32" toe grab to help with traction. The shape of the shoe and
nail placement is the same as other Kerckhaert race plates except
for the blunt toe. *Packed in 10 pair boxes.
Also available on special order: Kings Plate with toe clip front, front & hind. Kings Plate hind with side clips. For the future. Kerckhaert will continue to add styles to the race plate range. Among the styles to come are the bonded fronts, degree hinds, Thoroughbred outer rim shapes, and various styles with clips Front Sizes: 4, 5, 6, or 7 |
| SSP - The original unclipped style. Popular
on the hunter/jumper circuit, these shoes are punched for E-head
nails and are made in front/hind patterns, left and right. A broad
choice of steel sizes makes this an extremely versatile series.
DF Series - The clipped European style shoe. Punched for E-head nails, these shoes have the front/hind pattern with a longer outside branch on the hind shoe. Fronts are toe clipped or quarter clipped and hinds are side clipped, all with the new clip style. Draft Horse - 1/2" or 3/8". Heavy duty best describes these shoes. Excellent front and hind patterns with toe clips make shoeing of the heavy horse a much easier task. Two stock sizes, either 1/2 x 1-1/4" or 3/8 x 1" allow you to choose the right weight for the work your horses are doing. Training Series - Light and Heavy. Whether you’re shoeing for the Keeneland select sale or putting the first shoes on the “runner” down the road, the DR series will fit the bill. The shoe shapes combined with excellent nail placement makes shoeing the yearling or two year old a lot easier. Half Rounds - Breakover is what these shoes are famous for. This shoe is creased as well, giving good traction as well as breakover. There are two choices of stock size- 3/4" & 5/8". Like the rim and training shoes, the half-rounds also have extra nail holes |
| Easy measuring for shoes.
An easy way to measure hooves to determine the shoe size is to place the end of a cloth measuring tape at the outside (lateral) heel of the hoof, extending the tape slightly past the end of the hoof to allow for proper fit. Then wrap the tape around the perimeter of the hoof (circumference) to the similar point on the inside (medial) heel. The total measurement will correspond to the outer edge (circumference) of the finished shoe. Most of the horseshoe manufacturers note this measurement as the FIA (Farrier Industry Association) number. This measuring method will work equally well on the front and hind feet. |
